Maharaja @ Asian Art Museum - Drunk Monk - 02-13-2012 We accidentally wound up there on a free Sat, which made it way too crowded because the paintings are small and high detail and that was hard to see with a big crowd. Nevertheless, it's a DOOM worthy exhibit because there are several swords, guns and shields, and some armor. These are all regal pieces, heavily adorned with diamonds, rubies and gold. Spectacular. I especially liked a bejeweled kastane that had an ornate guard that was just stunning. There's two gorgeous rifles, a matchlock and a flintlock. The royal tulwars are just opulent. And there are a few daggers too. There's some robes and jewelry, along with some cool furniture and other oddities, but I was really struck by the number of high quality weapons. This is totally worth a gander for the local DOOM sword fetishists. |
