Killing Bono by Neil McCormick - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 12-05-2011 What if you were in a rock band in high school. And at that same school there was another rock band that was going to be one of the biggest rock bands in the school. Well, the other band at school was U2. Neil Mcormick tells about his struggles trying to get his band going while increasingly being overshadowed by his much more famous classmates. It's an interesting look at the early days of U2 and how they got started. The book was turned into a movie which got me interested. By all accounts, the book is better because there is so much internal monologue that I don't see how it could work well on screen. It does get a little long winded in the middle as the same failures for the band keep happening. But I did enjoy and if you like U2 you'll get some interesting early day stories. |
