Puss in Boots - Drunk Monk - 10-20-2011

I was at the Red Carpet premiere last night in SF. Why? Because I want to test my skills. As it turned out, despite my request, I wasn't on the press list, so I had to jedi my way in. There were like 50 reporters on the red carpet. Getting a shot was total paparazzi fu.

Here's my best one:

Here's Salma ready to ditch Antonio for the hot bald Asian cameraman:

It was fun. I should have brought T because I could have probably jedi-ed her in too, and she loves Puss.

Puss in Boots is great fun - it harkens back to the original Shrek in style, pace and humor. Great 3D. Kitty Softpaws (aka Salma who ditched Antonio for the hot bald Asian cameraman) is a tuxedo cat, just like ours. And there's some fun sword fights. I was totally satisfied with the film. Now I just gotta figure out a way to connect it to kung fu for my review. It's like 6 degrees of kung fu bacon for me, but the bacon is access to the red carpet.

Now what did I do with Salma's number?

Re: Puss in Boots - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 10-20-2011

Did you get the screenwriters name? Brian Lynch? I'm just saying. Distant cousin.

I had forgotten about that 'til I searched for a previous th - Drunk Monk - 10-20-2011

Had I remembered, I would have surely watched the credits more carefully, just to see how 'Lynch' looks in 3D.

I recant - Drunk Monk - 10-20-2011

This is my best pic. I think I caught the real Salma here.

Very Nice. Where you able to snag the giant Puss -n-Boots statue? Think of the night drops.

That was no statue - Drunk Monk - 10-21-2011

That was a furry, meaning there was a human of unknown gender and sexual orientation inside a costume. There were two furries - Puss and Kitty Softpaws. Kitty kept rubbing up against me. It made me nervous. I know ED, LB & PPFY are into that whole furry scene, but I find furries very disturbing.

Antonio & Salma - not furry

Re: Puss in Boots - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 10-21-2011

Darn. You could have snagged the head, I guess.

Ms Hayek's sweater seems to be bit sheer.

That's an artifact of my flash - Drunk Monk - 10-21-2011

Her outfit was painfully tasteful. I wish it was more sheer actually. At 45, she's still starlet hot.

I completely forgot about her vavoom factor back in the day.

now i'm disappointed... - Drunk Monk - 10-26-2011

When I was with Salma, I was enchanted by those gorgeous Spanish eyes. Her dress was rather discreet. She didn't unleash her voluptuous fu. I caught her on Letterman on Monday, and well, now I feel as if I missed out.

Salma was more conservatively dressed on Jimmy Fallon - Drunk Monk - 10-28-2011

She played beer pong with him and said while she enjoyed the game, she would rather play with tequila. Eek

Here's my 'official' Puss review.

saw it again w/T & the folks - Drunk Monk - 10-31-2011

They loved it. I was amused by all the previews, but Puss doesn't stand up as well for the second viewing.

Fall rush is impending. Devito as the Lorax? Seriously?

Re: Puss in Boots - Haggis Killer - 12-17-2011

Finally saw this on a screener DVD. Ben gave it 3 stars out of 5. I'd have to agree. Part cute & funny, part 'and now we go here, and now we go there...' Meh.

To quote the Oooooooh cat - Drunk Monk - 01-25-2012

Feh. - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 04-22-2012

The first parts were funny, up until they meet up with Humpty (and his digital underground) and they seem to forget the funny in favor of a very dull story. Why didn't the big bad eventually turn every one to stone like it was promised?

It was all very dull. Maybe 3-D has a special wavelength that keeps people from seeing how dull is the story?

It looked good, but much like all the Shrek films. And can we hold off on the big cat eyes gag for a few films? Or find some other joke. Which they did try with milk lapping.

I'm guessing if you weren't at the press screening with Gene and his new love, then you aren't going to like this film very much.

It was all about Salma in Boots - Drunk Monk - 04-23-2012

Although Salma in pumps ain't bad either.

Come on. It had sword fights.

Who is this Gene person you refer to?
