I read this ages ago, and several other of Piper's books. I remember liking them at the time, though I don't remember the particulars of this one except that it was the first. In one of his books the main character had a pet Kodiak bear...

Pertinent, cogent, and entertaining story discussing what legally defines "intelligence". I remember it pretty well, but none of his other books.

So John Scalzi, "Old Man's War" fame, is writing his own version of Little Fuzzy. Stay tuned as details develop. I like Scalzi and I'm curious to see what he will do with this tale.
