The updated contract has arrived. I'd sign it, but I needed to disclose a couple things to Casemate first. They have the book listed as having 60 illustrations and it's closer to 100. My grandfather also added a bunch of newspaper articles that I need to get permission to reprint. That won't be easy because some of the publications are out of print and all are at least 77 years old. Which begs the question that maybe the copyright in some instances has lapsed. Good times!

Turns out my publisher wasn't quite out the door after all. She wanted to tie up some loose ends before she left.

I believe 70 years is the max a copyright stands for something out of print. You must double check that but I remember that being a rule of thumb as a publisher.

I'm leaving this here as a fun fact that I keep stumbling across and re-surprised whenever I see it.
One of the pilots in the 64th Fighter squadron was Art Exon. He led the squad until he was shot down. He ended up in Stalag Luft III, the Great Escape Stalag. But the weird tie-in is if you look up the Roswell Spaceship crash, his name pops up. He was at Wright AFB at the time and flew over the crash site later.
