No Can Do - King Bob - 12-12-2007

Just can't do the Shrek thing. I've had enough Mike Myers to last a lifetime. I saw the first two films, and he was the least funny thing in both. He's well on his way down the Robin Williams career path.

Extras - thatguy - 01-07-2008

I just finished season two. The highlight was Episode 3 with Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Dame Dianna Rigg, and Warwick Davis (Willow). It was hilarious, truly hilarious. The exhange between Rigg and Radcliffe was awesome!

The Season 3 xmas special is on rotation on HBO, but I haven't seen it yet.

Lies and Base Calumny - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 01-07-2008

While I grant you the Daniel Radcliffe (I've made it with a girl . . . intercourse-wise.) episode was very funny, how can you not say the one with Sir Ian McKellan (I'm not really a wizard) wasn't the funniest thing ever? His notes on acting were Priceless.

The Christmas finale can't really be called funny. It's more of an explanation of why Ricky isn't doing any more Extras episodes. And what happens to you when you kill the golden goose. More soul searching that rib splitting.

Give in now and watch them. I won't say I wet my pants because that will just make DM's run to the video store (DVD Store?) all that more hairraising.

Breaking Bad - thatguy - 02-02-2008

A new show on AMC. High School Chem teacher becomes suburban meth cooker. Wow...I just finished episode 2. I'm liking it so far. Especially the (not really a spoiler) "Alien" scene in that last episode. You can see a trailer and the first two episodes on the web site here:

- Dr. Ivor Yeti - 04-05-2008

OK, for those who were watching "Life on Mars" were you happy with the ending? I don't want to say anything in case one of you wastrels was thinking of renting both seasons and watching it.

I liked it FWIW; that ending wan't play on the "American" version, though...

Also: The New Dr. Who: Still absolutely *ROCKS*! Best one-off was "Blink". Actually had me nervous. Good time-travel paradoxes (paradoxi? Paradoxen?) too.

Kung Fu Killer - Drunk Monk - 06-30-2008

It's coming from Spike late summer. It stars David Carradine as Crane (not Caine) and Daryl Hannah. I must confess, I was amused. It has some Ricky O like violence, lots of evisceration and spilling entrails, but what won me over was a scene where Crane palm strikes this villain in the gut and his spine pops out his back. Very funny. Daryl sings and looks like she might have put on a few since Kill Bill. I might get the chance to interview them both for this.

The New Season Leaks out: Fringe - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 09-11-2008

Ah, Fringe. It's about a woman working for a government agency from JJ Abrams. I wonder where he got the idea? And yes the lead looks a hell of a lot like Jennifer Garner.

That said, the first episode was pretty fun. Lots of blood and gore. The mad scientist is mad as a hatter but he is on our side. Lots of JJ Abrams paranoia about the government and world wide conspiracy theories. Nice tip of the cap to Altered States. The Queen had to point out the tie in to me, but it's a good one. I'm putting this one on the DVR.

From a production standpoint, I would just like to say thank god they moved the production to New York. At least I don't all the locales they are shooting in, with the exception of Harvard. They might say they are shooting there, but they aren't.

I also watched the Sarah Connor Chronicles for the last time. How much running and whining do I have to watch?

Still in wait mode - The Queen - 09-11-2008

The new TV show I want to see, Dollhouse, isn't scheduled until January 2009. Sigh.

Re: The New Season Leaks out: Fringe - El Dingo - 09-17-2008

Greg Wrote:Ah, Fringe. It's about a woman working for a government agency from JJ Abrams. I wonder where he got the idea? And yes the lead looks a hell of a lot like Jennifer Garner.

Actually I got a strong X-Files vibe from this show. The 'melting skin' scene was nifty, even better than 'The Devil's Rain'.

I'll keep watching.

Re: TV Kinda rocks now - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 09-17-2008

It's an X-Files, Alias, Nightstalker, mash up.

Just saw last nights episode. Let the myth building begin. It's nice having a mad scientist as one of the leads.

From a viewers standpoint, it's nice seeing other locals besides Los Angeles and Vancouver. I know Harvard isn't Harvard, but you do get to see real snow. They did have some shots of Boston. It's a good change. Makes the verisimilitude go down that much easier.

Monday, Monday - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 09-20-2008

I don't know what I'm more excited about for next week: The return of Heroes or the launch of Adobe CS4 on Tuesday. I realize I have problems.

not watching heroes tonite - Drunk Monk - 09-22-2008

can't make me. nope. that's how it starts. just one episode. one little episode. next thing you know, dm is on the skids, looking for his next tv fix.

Re: TV Kinda rocks now - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 09-22-2008

Loser. You could have watched two episodes. Plus a dreadful hourlong lead in. You blew it and now you have to catch up.

Let's just say everything is screwed up in really interesting ways. I hope they can keep it up. I'll post the CS4 review tomorrow.
