I don't know. They come by regularly and my desk is on the front of the house, so when they come thru, they are right outside my window, usually for a good chunk of time, then they trail off into the distance.

Have you tuned into THE HU yet? They do Tuvan singing, which is akin to tantric Buddhist chanting - using that guttural growl to utter a chord. Only THE HU use it as a metal band on traditional Mongolian instruments. I posted on them in my Outside Lands thread.

Never been a fan of tuvan throat singing. I’m interested, but I t annoys me for some reason. This is an interesting watch if you haven’t seen it.

Chanting is a special form of singing that obeys its own rules. Definitely not for the pop charts.
I've heard Tuvan throat singing live. A traditional performer opened for some band (I can't even remember who) at a Fillmore show. I remember all the jaded Mo crew taking at least a moment to check it out and go WTF? It was alike a pack of dogs turning their heads sideways when they hear a new sound. That seldom happens. I'm not sure it was something I'd listen to regularly (I don't own any Tuvan music at all) but live, it was totally engaging for a song or two. But most of the songs sounded the same after a while.

I remember when we saw the Gyoto monks it created this sort of oscillating overtone that you don't really hear in the recordings. Of course the point of it is probably doing it, not listening to it. For listening pleasure though, Gregorian chant is the clear winner.
I imagine Tuvan throat singing is probably more effective in a small space like a yurt. A Tuvan appeared with the Kronos quartet on an album I've got, but I always skip that track.

I am totally boosted. On a whim. I was in Kaiser in Oakhurst for a flu shot. I asked when Kaiser oakhurst would be doing the booster shots. The nurse mentioned the county was doing the did today at the community center. And here I am.
