RE: Brain circus insomnia - Greg - 10-19-2020 3am wide awake. Lay in bed until 4am. Maeve dropped her empty food bowl by the side of the bed. I got up and filled it. Lots of thoughts. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 10-19-2020 Yuki woke me up barking at stuff several times last night but thankfully, it was easy to get back to sleep. He's been barking at stuff lately - skunks maybe. I've smelled a lot of skunks recently - either that or one of our neighbors has a grow going. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 10-21-2020 I was getting drowsy but then popped awake again just now. I need to creep downstairs and snag some nite cheese from the fridge... RE: Brain circus insomnia - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 10-21-2020 Ooooo! Night Cheese! Splendid idea, Grommit! RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 10-25-2020 I was nodding off watching a vid http://www.brotherhoodofdoom.com/doomForum/showthread.php?tid=5785 after my whiskey and night cheese so I figured I'd tuck in but sleep won't come. So I grabbed my laptop and started chipping out my next Den Warrior review. Now my next door neighbors are chatting animatedly in their back yard which sounds like it's right outside my window. They do that occassionally - drinking and smoking. They're starting to quiet down now. But I'm still up and now burning out of writing. Man, I even double dosed on my whiskey and night cheese. Two shots and two wedges. Because it's Saturday night. yay? No, not really. I wound up working. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 12-09-2020 Been up for a few hours but I missed my 4:20 post because I was trying to go back to sleep. My winter circadian has been going to sleep around midnight and waking around 7 or 8, usually lying in bed for a while despairing the pandemic. I crashed around 10 or 11 last night and must’ve woke around 4ish to stare at the dark, and now my phone. Now it’s almost not worth trying to go back to sleep because I have to be up soon to make my mom breakfast. But I’m still gonna try. Just gotta put down this feckin fone. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Greg - 12-09-2020 The phone is your best and only friend. Never forget that. It could go badly for you if you do. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 01-17-2021 Been okay for the last few weeks. Not tonight. And this is after vid binging, whiskey & night cheese. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Greg - 01-17-2021 I slept from 10 to 4! A win. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 02-10-2021 I am tired - burnt out from toiling in the word mines. Too tired to keep writing. But my brain circus is still going - all three rings now. Trained tigers, jugglers, trapeze artists. Here come the clowns. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 03-03-2021 I’ve been sipping at my dad’s liquor cabinet. I tell myself that it’s a step towards cleaning out my parents’ house. My dad kept a standard cabinet with samples of drinks of his time, mostly for guests. His drinks of choice was Pabst and Jack. I’m working on a bottle of gin now. I really haven’t been drinking much during the pandemic, just an occasional nitecap like tonight with the gin. I took a double shot, which put me to sleep in the middle of the movie I was watching. But I’ve found that lately, liquor puts me out for a few hours and then, like now, I wake up at 3 or 4. It’s a bother, especially tonight because I must get up on time to make my mom’s breakfast before my early telemeeting. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Greg - 03-03-2021 Maeve has decided that the time I need to wake up is 3am. After a night spent barking in the yard, she will come in and bark at my head. Fortunately, she will go back outside once I admonish. Some times it is necessary to close the door behind her. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 03-03-2021 I can relate. Yuki barks at random things at night. At least it’s not my head. At least you don’t have neighbors to bother. I got back to sleep for a few moments and some broken dreams: one about Yuki looking unwell trying to climb the stairs (then I woke again) and another that had something to do with the lean being trimmed (then awake once more). I’m now up before the alarm but sleepy wishing I could sleep more but I don’t have the time now. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Greg - 03-03-2021 I worry about Maeve barking outside annoying the neighbors. Because when I go out in the morning, I can hear the neighbor dogs bark from blocks away. Fortunately, I think everyone is over insulated for the weather which help blocks the sound. RE: Brain circus insomnia - Drunk Monk - 03-03-2021 Yeah I guess the sound carries. We’re all squeezing in a tiny lot but there are other dogs that join in. |
