couples therapy - Drunk Monk - 11-15-2017 Last time we tried that, they gave us boffer swords to 'act out our frustrations'. We gave them a look, shrugged, tossed them, and pulled live blades on each other. Or maybe I just dreamed that.
RE: Ch-ch-ch-Changes - Greg - 11-15-2017 I'm going with the first option RE: Ch-ch-ch-Changes - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 11-17-2017 Nope, not a dream. Pretty much every day at 55 Highland. Probably the last word on this, but after the cleaners left the apartment, I went to look out the kitchen window, which was my perch for the last 5 years. I liked to sit and look out at the bay, and in particular, the freighters that would come sliding past the buildings on Fisherman's Wharf. Once in a great while, I would get lucky and see a cruise ship leave. As I looked out, the universe threw me a gaudy bone; a cruise ship was leaving, all lights and immensity, bigger than the freighters. I got to watch it slide slowly by, heading for the Golden Gate. I locked the doors, but left my keys inside and left. I ran a quick errand (dropping off the modem to be shipped back to Comcast) and then headed to the fencing club. Since I was passing my new place, I swung by to drop off the few things that I had gleaned from North Beach, two lost photo albums and a book that my first fencing master had given me. As I pointed my bike down Cabrillo Ave, I could see the ocean, which I love seeing every day now. This time, the rain had let up and off in the ocean was that same cruise ship. I share your sentiments about seeing the ocean. I usually see the sea daily, although not a great view. But like at Carl's Highland, I can smell it. And I can hear it well - waves crashing on quiet nights, sea lions and seals. I can't imagine living without that now. RE: Ch-ch-ch-Changes - Dr. Ivor Yeti - 11-18-2017 Agreed. I was so happy that I could still hear foghorns at the new Cave. New Address: 882 31st Ave, SF, CA, 94121. I'm in an in-law with no doorbell or separate address. i enter/leave through the garage. perfect Yeti Cave. RE: Ch-ch-ch-Changes - Drunk Monk - 11-18-2017 I should also mention that I can see and hear the Big Dipper. Not the constellation, the roller coaster. I see it every other day, driving or strolling about, and I can constantly hear the screams when it's running. I like those screams. Congrats on the new digs. |
