I'm on a show. Hmmmmmm 11 days to go - Drunk Monk - 06-02-2010  Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo by Stieg Anderson - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 06-14-2010 So, the DM can do no wrong in Lynch Manor, Saratoga. My parents are currently watching the second movie in the series from a DVD DM ripped for me this afternoon. I hate to make my mother happy but this gesture had that unforeseen consequence. did they see the mag? - Drunk Monk - 06-15-2010 it was right after the hot lesbian sex scene... Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo by Stieg Anderson - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 06-15-2010 This morning my father asked what magazine I was talking about. Which should come with my mother's question "So, Gene is a tournament promoter?" The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest - Drunk Monk - 07-04-2010 Rolling Stone says Fire is being released this week somewhere in America. The Pink section concured, but called it Dragon Tattoo in one of the reviews (not in the photo caption) and said it starred Lizbeth Salander instead of Noomi. Suddenly my copy of Fire isn't as cool, so to stay ahead of the curve, I watched Hornet's Nest. Gotta keep avante garde, you know. Hornet's was quite good, picking up right where Fire ended. It doesnt' have the visceral punch of the two previous films, despite opening with a brain operation, and it's a little predictable, but the trilogy is a well told story and Lizbeth finally finds justice. That's such a relief. Tattoo sets the hook, Fire rocks with the best fights, best sex scenes, and best mag cameo ever, and Hornet's winds it all down to a happy ending. Noomi is excellent again but hospitalized and incarcerated for most of it, which detracts from her dynamism. All in all, a great trilogy - a tad longwinded, yet satisfying until the last. I'm very eager to see what Noomi does next. I'm grateful for Yellow Bird and I'm honored that our mag has a cameo. Millennium reminds me of our mag a lot. As a publisher, my life is so like Blomquist's, except instead of guns, it's swords and rope darts. Seriously, I could totally empathize with what he went through. That's like my typical work week. The Girl who Kicked the Hornets Nest, the Book - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 07-11-2010 This is the book review section, not the movie's my magazine is in forum. The book was good, but needed some editing. The fact that Stieg died probably didn't help matters. And the fact the notes for the fourth book are still in the hands of his girlfriend doesn't bode well. I do want to see more of Lisbeth and Kalle fucking blomquist. There wasn't a lot of arc or mystery or twist to the final book. We know who the bad guys are and we are going to go get them. Lisbeth brother haunts the book but you only see his trail, you never actually find out what he is thinking about. He's kind of brought out as a gotcha to give some excitement, but at the best he's just a boogey man. Other characters that were talked about in the beginning vanish in the book never to be seen from again. But the book kept my interest. I did want to see how the whole thing would turn out. But were the first act was twisty and full of mystery and the second was full of action, the final book was just about tying up loose ends. James Bond will play Blomquist in the Hollywood remake - Drunk Monk - 07-30-2010 Lisbeth has yet to be decided. Noomi says she's totally done with Lisbeth. Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo by Stieg Anderson - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 07-30-2010 Natalie Portman . . . padme was eliminated a long time ago - Drunk Monk - 08-02-2010 They are looking at 4 unknowns. And the winner is . . . - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 08-18-2010 Quote:Rooney Mara, a little-known American actress, has been cast as Lisbeth Salander in the English-language remake of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo I have no idea who she is but I did work on "The Social Network" which she is also in. yesterday's news - Drunk Monk - 08-18-2010 i posted a pic on kfm http://ezine.kungfumagazine.com/forum/s ... stcount=25 Re: The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo by Stieg Anderson - Greg_phpbb3_import1 - 08-18-2010 Why do I even try? because - Drunk Monk - 08-19-2010 one day it'll happen FIELD GOAL! |
