RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-21-2022

It’s just the coughing now. The other symptoms seem to have subsided but I get these brutal coughing fits - feels like I’m trying to bring something up and out of my left lung. It’s always my damn left side. Death will come at me from my left.

Woke up coughing. Not good.

753: Rest & work. Heal…

Everything feels unstable now. So many things to consider…

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-23-2022

754: Light recovery Kung Fu, clean up, then make it for Chinatown for the CHSA opening. Probably won’t spend too long there. Gotta pace myself because I’m still getting over that cold.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-24-2022

755: Lam Sifu’s Ching Ming where I imagine I’ll see the cfs. Then home to work & laundry.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-25-2022

756: Find a place for my mom. Work. Laundry. Recover.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Greg - 04-25-2022

Recover. Work on my anger issues with my family. The Queen's family. Report coming.

“Find a place for your mom”?

It's looking like she'll need to be housed in a long term care facility. It's highly unlikely she'll be able to live on her own anymore.

Yikes. That is too bad. Has your mother ventured an opinion how she feels about that?

RE: Sheltering in Place - King Bob - 04-25-2022

That's a hard one, at least it was for us. We got lucky that my mom briefly realized she needed to move and we got it done then.

We got some recommendations from "A Place for Mom." My mom got excellent care at Sunrise of Sunnyvale, but they don't have skilled nursing (most of the places we toured didn't). They did offer help with getting out of bed, dressing, bathing, going to the bathroom (and incontinence), meds, etc. but of course it's all extra $ and it only goes up.

Good luck when you tour facilities. It's depressing. And I recommend skipping the Memory Care area unless you want extra heartbreak.

Thanks for that.

I worked for Laboratory Services for a bit - with LB no less (he helped get me that job). My job was to drive through Palo & Mtn View to pick up specimens from a few Doctors offices, but mostly facilities like these so I'm way too familiar with them. Of course, that was like 40 years ago but I can't imagine they've changed that much.

757: Work, visit mom.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-27-2022

758: same as yesterday plus touring a potential facility.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-27-2022

Make that two facility tours.

Stacy just let me know she now has a cold.

We have tix for the symphony on Saturday, and for Planet Drum/Bobby on Sunday. Dammit, dammit, dammit.

RE: Sheltering in Place - Drunk Monk - 04-28-2022

760: telemeeting triptych, book more facility tours, Kung Fu.
