You know what likes Baby Rattlers? Cats. Cats I got.

RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - King Bob - 03-30-2021

I was out at Rancho San Antonio with Mike Roman once and he almost stepped on one in the middle of the trail. It wasn't super visible; I saw it at the last second and stuck my arm out and held him back. It's easy for us city dwellers to forget that nature is full of danger.

And shouldn't they be brightly colored? Isn't that the big poisonous animal warning signal?

I used to go out with Mike Rovetti up the tracks by Bateh Brothers and catch rattlers. He had a method of putting a tube sock up his arm, pinning the snake’s head down with a long stick, then grabbing the snake’s face with the sock hand and inverting the sock over the snake. Tie a little knot in the end of a sock, then put that in a pillow case. We caught a few and he kept them in tanks in his closet (with all his other reptiles). He bred them and then released them back where we found them.

Clearly TG had more interesting (unusual?) friends than I did when we were young.

Currently sitting on the porch while the storm rolls in on a Sunday morning wondering when the power will come back on.

No gas generator? WTH? What kind of prepper are you?

When the apocalypse comes, your neighbors are going to pillage your place and be sorely disappointed.

When the apocalypse comes...

...soon come.

RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Greg - 04-25-2021

My neighbor has a generator.....He probably has guns, too, though.

And rations.

And what do you have?

Cats.

I have some water stored. But, yes, eventually, we'll just be meals for the cats.

I did look into getting battery back-up for the solar panels, like the Tesla Battery Wall, but I'm going to need some cash infusion before that happens.

Happy 2 year anniversary of moving into the Lair today, May 11 2019.

Yay!

How many DOOMers have made the trek?

RE: Life in Lynch Lair at Wildcat Station - Greg - 05-11-2021

Just the one. Although Deb has dropped by as well.

So if it's only been DM, how do we really know that it exists? It could be another one of his mirror universe hallucinations. He's been getting more of those since the pandemic struck.

How do I even know DM exists?
