Who knew there were photographs of the ghost in the Sunnyvale Toys R Us? You all knew that the Toys R Us on Stelling at El Camino was haunted, didn't you? Makes me want to do all my shopping there.

I have personal experience with this ghost!
I was shopping there back in, oh, probably 1988 or 89. I had two encounters during my visit. The first was by the diaper rack. I was facing some toys directly to the left side of the rack. A small boy, probably 5 or 6, was on the right side of the rack. In between us, one of the large bags of diapers threw itself off the rack. The young boy and I both looked at the diaper bag and then at each other. I bent over to peer behind the rack to tell the stock person that the diapers were coming off the front. No one was there. The boy took off screaming. (Ok, anyway he took off.) I looked at the package and the rack. The rack had a good stopping system at the end and the rack was not over-filled. The bag was heavy. And, well, it leapt off the end with no other visible assistance.
Same trip, later. I was in an aisle, close to one end. On the far end of the same aisle, an employee was on a ladder stocking. In between us but on the rack behind myself and the employee, a toy box leapt off the shelf, landing on the floor. The employee let out an exasperated, "aah!", walked over and picked up the toy and reshelved it. I asked her if that happened alot. She answered, "Oh yes. We have a ghost."
When I got back to work, I did some research and discovered the root of the story about a farm hand who'd died in the area of where the store was built. Need proof? How about Snopes?

I took journalism in high school (which was one of the few classes I actually apply in my real world job - go figure). We did a story on the Toys R Us ghost. When we were developing the film (had to develop our own film for the class) and someone opened the darkroom causing a weird effect on the photo. We ran it anyway because it looked cool and added a caption that implied the photo was unretouched (which is was, at least, intentionally speaking). We got in trouble for that - not much - just a disciplinary talk with the journalism teacher. Nevertheless, we felt it was a major HS victory.
Years later, I was in Toys R Us with some RM friends on the way to Shoreline (I must caveat and confess - this story has an illicit element that may effect your judgment of it). A light started to flicker in a back aisle where I was alone. I looked up and this doll was walking down the aisle - no one was around. It sounded like it said 'thank you' and I had the distinct feeling that it was the girl that drowned in the well. I felt it was thanking me for retelling her tale. The doll was one of those walking dolls so it could have been set in motion be someone I didn't see. Also I was trippin. That's a major factor, obviously. Nevertheless, we had to leave immediately. My friends thought I was having a meltdown, which I was. We fled, but not before they accidentally broke part of the light up sign - Geoffrey's ear no less - then we really had to run.

I totally made up that second story. The first one about journalism class and the Fremont High Newspaper was true. And the breaking Geoffrey's ear on the big sign on acid before a show was also true. But there was no doll episode.
Score one point to ED for calling DM's bluff.

....but this calls into question SO many DM posts that I can't begin to count. My illusion is shattered. Faith dissolved. I am filled with boundless skepticism.
Like anyone cares.
Including me.

Didn't you turn on the DM bullshit detector in your profile preferences? I did and I only have about twenty posts from DM.

...is that you can slip in the truth when no one's looking and no one's the wiser.
I write for a living. I write a lot. I ran out of experiences to write about long ago. It was either resort to BS or science fiction...

All I got was a title and a blank page and DM's avatar. It works fantastic.
