Dead Boy Detectives (2024)
#1
Two young men skip the afterlife and spend their time solving ghost related crimes. The first episode starts in London and travels to Port Townsend, WA. The bring along a living psychic who is currently having demon problems and can see the two dead detectives.

The whole show moved really fast without a lot of time for exposition. The show has a bit of a Lockwood and Co sensibility to it. There is a lot going on. It's kind of funny. But I haven't decided if it is any good at this point. Based on a story by Neil Gaiman who also executive produced. Greg Berlanti who did a million WB shows (Notably the Arrowverse shows) also lends a hand.

I will watch more.

Berlanti also did Kung Fu and several other CW shows. That wasn’t a sell point for me.

This popped up in my queue too. Thought about it for a fleeting moment but decided against it unless you convince me otherwise. Good luck.

Ep02. The boys are still stuck in Port Townsend. I'm liking this more. There were a couple of outre characters in Ep01 that I'm glad we got to find out more about in Ep02. Big representation for the LGBTQ society.

I'm still in for more episodes.

There's a painter I like who lives there. We went there about 30 years ago and it was a nice little town. I was told they are in the rain shadow, so the weather is much better than it is over in Seattle.

Based on a comic written in part by Neil Gaiman, which is why I gave it a chance. We're most of the way through the season (only 9 episodes I think) and both Christina and I are enjoying it. Fairly clever and occasionally funny as well. The premise is these two dead teenagers didn't go on to the afterlife and remain on earth to solve supernatural mysteries for other ghosts, which allows those to go on to the afterlife. They decide to help a living person, who is psychic and can see them, and things get more complicated, and then there are other mysteries as well.

Doom recommended? Maybe, depending on your taste. Use your own judgment.

Hmm, I thought I reviewed this. I caught the first three episodes and have been watching other things. I should go back.

Update: Found the other thread. KB, you even commented on it.

Funny, I thought I searched for this.

Got to the last episode last night. Finished nicely with an opening for another season and a cliffhanger for one character.
