We could have gone with The Woman King, but we wanted something a little fun. And after seeing a clip of the movie on The Late Show, we thought Your Place or Mine would have been the right ticket. We should have gone with The Woman King.
Not particularly Romantic or even that funny, we saw the one funny scene already, YPoM tells the story of Ashton Kutcher and Rees Witherspoon who hooked up once twenty years ago and decided to become best friends rather than be lovers. Now Reese has to go to New York, where Ashton lives and Ashton has to come to Los Angeles to take care of Reese's kid while Reese is in New York. Oh, the shenanigans. Steve Zahn and Tig Notaro are also in this but are seriously underused
We eventually learn that Ashton has been secretly pining for Reese the entire twenty years which is why he can't commit to a long term relationship. Meanwhile Reese is just a downright horrible person, over controlling her 13 year old son and everything around her.
The movie is full of all the cliches and improbable situations that a moments thought could have straightened out.
If only there was a sword fight.

As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
