From the Cradle to the Stage
#1
Dave Grohl’s other other other project where he took his mom on tour and she wondered where all the other rock mom’s were, found them, heard their stories and wrote a book (with the same title). Dave just brought it to the small screen in an episodic format. I watched Ep1 which was the singer from Imagine Dragons, it was interesting, but I don’t really know/care about them. New episodes would appear each week but I’ve been busy enough that I wasn’t drawn to it, but I knew there was an episode in the mix with Geddy Lee of Rush, so I pulled that up tonight. It turns out that that is the final episode and spends a pretty good amount of time on wrapping up the series and talking about Dave and his daughter Violet and how they are passing the torch. The bits with geddy and his mom were peppered in. It was really dark. Both his parents survived the Holocaust and it’s as much the story of his mom and dad as it is about geddy as a child. I had no idea. I presume this was filmed before Neil peart’s death as Grohl was going on about how Rush was the first band he heard that made him notice drums and want to become a drummer. It would have been darker if they did it after Neil’s death.

I had to pull out the guitar and play 2112 afterwards.

not recommended unless you like Rush
