George Clooney directs and stars in this during the apocalypse tale. Clooney plays a dying scientist struggling to get to the last transmitter capable of broadcasting to a spaceship returning to earth to tell them not to come home. The last transmitter is at the north pole. There's a girl accidentally left behind by people evacuating who accompanies him. Meanwhile on the returning spaceship, Felicity Jones and the rest of the crew have problems of their own to deal with.
It's really well shot, but not a lot happens. Lots of scenes of Clooney taking medication and throwing up in the toilet. Lots of quite scenes of people talking. I guess this was supposed to be a thinking man's science fiction epic. But it just came across as pretentious.
