The Secrets of the Saqqara Tomb (2020 Netflix)
#1
Egyptian Archaelogists discovered a previously undisturbed tomb near Cairo in the necropolis of Saqqara. Now, you think they would build up to the discovery of the tomb but no, they lead with it. I guess this makes sense. They found the tomb and then decided to make a documentary about the excavation of the tomb. The tomb is owned by a high priest named Watye. And for the next two hours we go throw his tomb. They also talk to all the people involved in the dig from the lowest digger to the government minister complete with back story. The documentary also shows other finds around the site.

Since they lead with the discovery, they build tension through the ticking clock device. The crew needs to make another big discover before Ramadan so they can keep digging, ie employed, for the next season. I'm going to say it's a little artificial in that sense.

I'm thinking this would have made a really strong one hour show. At two hours, I started to nod off.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
