Peggy O did her last show at KFJC today. It's hard to believe it's been 15 years. Many of the students at Foothill were only three when she began. DM remembers her first time on the radio ever. She was sitting in beside some other DJ; it was during a Dead show at Shoreline and DM listened in for a moment during set break. DM missed her actual sign off today due to some weird office chaos and only got to tune in at 2 PM to catch the end of the last song.
As a footnote, it was on Spliff Skankin's show (KFJC's reggae DJ) where DM announced the expectancy of his child (DOOM got a special announcement on our last great DOOMLA road trip).

@ faux now. Jenn is doing some massive color treatment for Tara. I'm going to get a trim, even though it's been less than a year since the last time.
So I sit & wait.
& post here pondering fate.
Ain't iPhones great?

I'm thinking you are sitting too close to the coloring chemicals.
Meanwhile, I'm playing with the front end of the website.

Then it never happened. My family rejects having their pix taken.
I'm the only selfie slut in the family.

Peggy O gave me a ninja cut today at her home to abet my job hunt. I haven't been there in maybe a decade and a half. I think the last time was when we all went for some party and Tara wore a hula skirt - she must've been like 4 or so. It was really good to see her and catch up. She's doing okay. Out of work and it doesn't look like salons will reopen for another month. Her house was getting a new roof - an ongoing project that was complicated by the recent rains. She's still playing fiddle and loving that. She dragged Darden out to say 'hi' - Darden is taller than Jenn now and really looks like her and Tim's daughter. Her whole family are clients of Stacy's, as are several of her friends. She sends her regards to DOOM.

Yay, “Peggy O”. Glad she is surviving.

She did ask after you. I told her you'd be out soon, on good behavior.

As long as the *specific* behavior was not defined, that’s nice.

Got a long overdue cut and it was great to check in with JB. She sends her regards. Faux is now Station X and has been open for a few months with covid restrictions in place. It means she can only take one client at a time, so she’s no longer making as much money and no longer has an assistant. I told her to watch Stro. Her eldest got into Berkeley. Her youngest is another story entirely. Her father passed away and left her some inheritance, which was the only thing he ever did for her she says, but it has provided some significant financial security especially with one kid starting college.
It was really good to see her.

Saw P-O a few weeks ago for a cut. She made a major point to remind DM of when two of her Renn Faire friends wanted to have a three-way with DM and he dropped the ball on that.
Stacy sees her as a client every once in a while (she trades massage for cuts). She gifted me a baguette of some yummy bread that she calls 'crack'. There was a day when it would've been real drugs...

Damn, has it really been a year since my last trim? The pandemic savagely distorts time.
Again, it was good seeing Jenn. She just got back from a trip to Vietnam, which she adored (I've never been). She's in travel mode, getting it while she can, which we should all be doing if not for this damn plague.
She didn't ask after any of you. I'm sure she's forgotten all of you by now. We chatted about what we were watching, dealing with our moms (hers just had a big fall and broke her shoulder), and random observations of aging.
She's another covid dodger, which considering her occupation that puts her in close contact with others, is remarkable. But so is Stacy and she's in close contact with customers too, and they're nekkid.

Well, your hair probably hasn't been growing at the pace that it used to grow.

It's growing at the same pace more or less, there's just less of it to grow...
