Pleasantville (1998)
#1
Odd to watch right now because it kept referencing uncharted territory (shelter in place).  A young Tobey & Reese travel to a TV B&W land and slowly instill color, which comes after sex, then artistic enlightenment, then just passionate emotion.  Macy is great as the dad. There's a xenophobic angle as people get 'colored' (the cast is totally white ironically) and there's some comments about spreading like a virus, and almost a make pleasantville great again tone, and then it ends with a 'what happens next?' So many loose ends and improbabilities.  It felt like it could have been addressed better with a tight Twilight Zone ep, but drawing it out to a movie made it weird.  Weirder still was our frame of minds with the shelter in place and the juxtaposition of this dvd.

If creepy Don Knotts shows up at my door, I'm gonna get my sword.  And there were no swords in this.  Not particularly DOOM recommended.

I saw this at the time. The colorization effect was unique. If you wanted to do it on your own, it was called the Pleasantville effect.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
