Wasn't sure if I should post this here or in movies, but it was on Netflix so I'm here.
An Agatha Christie style whodunit with Daniel Craig as the detective. A famous writer is dead. All the family are a little shitty, and they all lie to the cops. Craig has to ferret out the killer. He does a Southern accent that might be a little over the top, but it worked for the movie. I was entertained but it's nothing ground breaking. One of his co-stars is apparently also in the Bond film

Agreed.
Craig's amurikan accents are always a bit overdone, reminds me of John Cleese's parody murikan accent, but in this case, it was a lot like Kevin Spacey in House of Cards.
Chris Plummer and Jamie Lee Curtis were great, as always. Anna de Armas is the new Bond girl - she's definitely up and coming, and I love her name. It was a solid cast of suspects, and I got all of the twists by the end, but not until then. Funny. I love the way Plummer's mansion was decorated (lots of weapon racks and the throne of knives was awesome). Also found the Murder She Wrote reference funny.
No sword fights. Recommended for DOOMers that enjoy good ensemble cast murder mysteries.
Watched via Netflix but on hard copy DVDs. We signed up again for those for Sheltering in Place.

Well, that was disappointing (Remember, I hate everything) I kept expecting this to be so much more. Far more twisty. Jamie Lee kept saying this all seems to be one of father's games and it really wasn't. No one knelt before Zod. Captain America is missing for half of the movie and he seems to have forgotten how to play dickish rogue with any charm. It just seems to stumble about until Mr. Blanc comes in and tells us what was going on. And I wanted more from the grandmother. It just wasn't twisty enough. Or not that the twists weren't cool enough.
I did like the set dressing. I could have spent more time looking around the upper rooms and is office. The circular knife decoration was cool.

Your issue is that your expect too much. We both told you it was okay, but not 'so much more'. With your attitude, you are destined for disappointment and misery.

Duh. It didn't seem to even rise to your review of mediocrity.

Fair. But I've far more giving in my reviews, mostly because I review them professionally and with a niche audience. It's not like I review for a major outlet so I've got to be cautious not to offend the promoters too much, lest they blackball me from the screeners. Also, on the whole, I've got to promote my industry and there are a lot of bad films in my genre. In fact, they're mostly bad.
Now you might ask 'But here on DOOM, it's just us. Why don't you pan the films honestly?' Well, that's mostly to get Greg into watching them.
Seriously tho - we'd have made a great Siskel & Ebert.
