Last night LCF and I went to SETI Institute in Mountain View for a special viewing of Science Fair. It was a small gathering, maybe 50 people in regular chairs and a screen set up against a wall. There was a blanketed area of floor up front for children, but only about 6 took advantage. Popcorn and drinks were available free. All in all, a nice gesture by SETI.
A widely diverse assortment of students are profiled as they prepare and compete in various science fairs, culminating in competition of the highest rank at an international science fair for top honors.
Who woulda thunk? Encouraging younguns to excel in science? Much better than I anticipated; full of insights and life lessons, funny, emotional, and downright inspirational. Very highly recommended.
Now SETI needs to get back to finding aliens...
