I picked this up at the library sale because it was a new unread hardcover that I figured I could get good trade credit for. I saw a cover blurb by Neil Gaiman and decided to read it. You may have heard of the author; her memoir about converting to Islam and marrying an Egyptian (The Butterfly Mosque) got a fair amount of press.
This book takes place in an unnamed Middle Eastern country and is about a hacker who has to go on the lam. And there are Djinn. It was clever, moved quickly, and the writing was good. Perhaps not a great book, but entertaining. I think she may be an author to watch.
