Relatable: Ellen Degeneres
#1
It's the Ellen Degeneres comedy special. She tells jokes. She talks about being a lesbian. Some of it is funny. Some, it drags.

The big shocker for me was the one swear word because I thought her claim to fame was cleanliness. But no big deal. There were lots of great jokes about her wealth. My big cameo catch was seeing Eddie Vedder in the audience sitting next to Laura Dern.

If you want to see a great job of a comedian bearing his soul, I recommend Pat Oswald's Annihilation.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Back in the Jurassic period, the eds and I were into the live comedy scene and saw Ellen do stand up long before she became Ellen. She was sparkling and hilarious. I have a very clear memory of her schtick pondering how women could wet public toilet seats with pee. She and Bobcat Goldthwaite were favs. That must’ve been the early 80s. I knew she was special back then, but never imagined she would become what she had become.
