This is a 10 ep Netflix series that Tara got me hooked into. I'm on the finale episode, which I'll probably watch tonight. Emma Stone, Sally Field and Jonah Hill.  Emma still freaks me out with her enormous anime eyes, but I respect her range.  Sally is solid - this role was almost written for her. I despise Jonah.  This doesn't redeem him, but he does come alive in the last eps, and I was surprised.  The series is about experimental psych meds and AI.  There's some fun nods to those that know psych, like Jonah's character is named Milgrim (he did the infamous electrocution experiments - I made an art mask based on those studies that hangs in my office today). There's lots of easter eggs as Emma and Jonah move through the hallucinatory worlds, like the constant number 1s and 9s (their subject numbers). It's got a wry black humor to it and some gory ultravi.  A tad long-winded tho.  They might have done the series in half the episodes.

I couldn't get past the Jonah Hill factor. Plus, it felt really dreary as opposed to this edgy comedy it was billed at. And everyone seemed to be sleep walking through the episodes.

Speaking of hallucinations, I thought I had already posted a review on this show back when I watched it. And believed that King Bob had weighed in as well.

understandable about hlll.  he was okay in this at the end.  and like i said, i despise him.  and like i said, it's long-winded, but if you can make it to emma in the elf hallucination, by then it's amusing.

the ending was anticlimatic.  there's that trope where you don't know where the hallucination ends, where the assumed reality is just another dream.  depalma played that card well in his day.  i was waiting for that.  but it never happened.  it just kinda ends.  

as for that previous discussion greg, maybe you hallucinated it or maybe this is the hallucination.  if this is the hallucination, that would explain a lot of things.
