The Armoured Saint by Myke Cole
#1
Thank god for libraries.

I was thinking this was going to be a much bigger book from all the pictures I have seen on Myke Cole's Twitter feed. But it's short. It just hits 200 pages which must barely push it from Novela to Novel category. But all this is not the author's fault.

It's a very slight story. And the heroine, Heloise, does every thing wrong and still gets treated like the father. If she hadn't mouthed off, she would have gotten the eye of the authorities. If she had stayed hidden, she wouldn't have shown her town mayor to be a liar causing further problems for her town. If she had just come home when she was supposed to come home...

It just seemed like the hero was stupid. She wasn't the brightest. And she got most of her town killed. So, this book wasn't a big win for me.

I'll read the sequel because I want to see if our hero does better.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
