Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri
#1
No super heroes. No Origin stories. No lavish special effects. No based on previous material.

Three billboards is that unicorn, an original story for the screen. And it was really good.

You heard me. I liked a film.

It's from the same man who brought you 'In Brugge' which was another stellar film.

Basically, Frances McDormand rents three billboards outside of town to prod the local police force into solving the murder of her daughter. The local sheriff is played by Woodie Harrelson. His deputy is Sam Rockwell. It is such a great cast. With few exceptions the cast is completely unlikeable and yet you find yourself rooting for them in different ways.

There's humor. There is pathos. There is reprehensible behavior. And the story keeps moving in unexpected directions. There is also one CGI character and it bugged me because it was poorly done, but that is a minor quibble.

And there's a dwarf, much like In Brugge.

I would put this on your list of movies to see.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm
