The Edge of Seventeen (2016)
#1
Watched for the sake of my first rock diva and you know what?  Stevie's song isn't even in this.  WTH?

It's Hailee Steinfeld's coming of age flick. Not a father-daughter flick because the father dies at the beginning. Woody Harrelson is Hailee's sarcastic yet wise high school teacher. Hayden Szeto is her nerdy artsy Asian friend who's kinda crushing on her while she goes through her dramatics. It's from Huayi Bros., so there's almost a soft power thing happening with an Asian love interest, and yet SPOILER no kiss END SPOILER.  I found myself caught between relating to Hayden and my own misadventures in teen romance and Woody and my wise advisor role to students and followers.  Hailee can act and is charming, but the role would've worked better with an actress that was more homely.  No swordfights.  Not DOOM recommended. I only bring it up because I'm sure the title will bring a goodly smirk to y'all that remember my Stevie years.

Ah Stevie... Heart
