"On the Green" (Journey/Santana/S. Miller/Doobies) - 9/4/16 ATT Park
#1
The event was more a celebration of the '70s Bay Area music scene than a laid-back concert like the original Day on the Greens.

Tower of Power opened, but we arrived late and missed them

The Doobie Brothers played their "Greatest Hits" album in its entirety as did "The Steve Miller Band". Santana played their patented "every note is perfect" with 8 drummers (OK, maybe not 8 but their music is all about percussion). I'm not a big Santana fan, their style is closer to Latin jazz than rock 'n' roll.

We stayed for half the Journey set. We just wanted to see the Indonesian Steve Perry impersonator (who has now been part of the band longer than Steve Perry). He was eerily spot-on, sounding exactly like the albums.

ATT park was sold out and VERY crowded. ED doesn't like crowds that are so dense that it's difficult to walk to the food vendors.

It was fun, but more as a "I was there" event than a really great concert.
