Gogol Bordello @ UC Theater 04/27/16
#1
Finally got to check out the newly-reopened UC Theater.

The last time I was there was about a million years ago seeing "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" for the 12th time.

It's also where I was introduced to "Eraserhed", "King of Hearts", "El Topo" and dozens of other cult classics.

The floor is tiered (similar to The Warfield), with tables and chairs only along the front railings. We got there just in time to snag a table on the 2nd tier. The rest of the hall is SRO and you could tell the folks standing around us were mighty jealous of our seating and view.

The band looked and sounded great. I won't go into details about the setlist or crazy energy of the band. Suffice it to say it was another frantic gypsy party.

I usually avoid getting a shirt due to price and the fact I have too many t-shirts as it i, but I couldn't resist this one:

Great venue but get there way early if you want to park your butt.

The last film I saw at UC Berkeley was Koyanasqatsi. But the first film I saw there was the Rocky Horror Picture. I was in Berkely for a High School speech tournament and I was staying at the Barrington dorm, long before Peter Spencer lived there.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

Nice shirt. My respect for GB is even greater now.

I'm not sure if I ever saw anything at the UC. My years spent visiting Cal were usually to Acacia frat house for Dead shows.

Really like GB. Thank you, El Dingo, for introducing me to them!
In the Tudor Period, Fencing Masters were classified in the Vagrancy Laws along with Actors, Gypsys, Vagabonds, Sturdy Rogues, and the owners of performing bears.
