Nothing really grabbed me and summer is already packed tight. You planning to see any? I'll go if I have the time and energy. I want to catch a boardwalk movie - haven't done that yet.

They have to show the Lost Boys since it is set in the Cruz.
As a matter of fact, my anger does keep me warm

It's set at the boardwalk. But then again, so is Sudden Ipmact and they don't show that. It'd be rough watch Sondra Locke get raped under the bandshell on the screen on the new bandshell. Not the family friendly image the boardwalk wants to promote.

Yet rampant exsanguination of people is fine? Your standards may be skewed.

Bloody murder is fine. Rape is not family friendly. At least that's the Boardwalk's view of it.
Besides, have you seen Lost Boys recently? It's no very bloody. Actually it's hilariously dated. Did I review it here?
ever feel like we're just having the same conversation over and over again?

Caught the 2nd BOC set last night. T joined me. We both really just wanted to walk down to the beach. Ran into a friend, the dad of one of T's classmates who just graduated; he's a shutterbug and likes to take pix of bands because the light is so nice. We hung out for a few tunes, then went by the arcade to see what new games there are now.
The band sounded even more tired than the last time I saw them. Buck's licks haven't changed a note. And for reaper - no cowbell. I almost ran up on stage and screamed 'I am Eugene! Give me a damn cowbell!!'
Nevertheless, it was a lovely warm evening at the boardwalk. Very pleasant.

My kid just got her first job.
Ticket taker at the Boardwalk.
But she blew her drug test. It's not what you think. She missed the cup and ran out of pee, so she must go back and do it again. My family thought my reaction was hilarious when they told me she failed.

Between my free Roaring Camp Railroad passes and Boardwalk Tix I could be living the sweet, sweet life of a railroad/beach tycoon!

I'm not sure she even gets passes. She'll only be working there for 7 weeks then school starts again. I'll know more tomorrow after she retakes her drug test.
I just got back from the Family Stone. The 7 piece sports 3 original members going on 50 years this year, plus one of Sly's daughters, and 3 new members. It wasn't crowded at all so I tucked up in the pit and was going to bail after a few songs cuz it was foggy and chilly, but once they got warmed up, so did everyone. Cruz funketeers! The band wore purple for Prince (the sax player and daughters mom worked with him for a few years). The band was funktastic, one of the best free beach shows so far.

We're working on getting her work permit - getting a job as a teen is so much harder nowadays.
