It's been an issue for years actually. Not as bad as the paraquat years, but heartbreaking in other ways. If you follow my posts about Reggae on the River, the decline of the Eel can be largely based on illegal growers letting their waste water drain into the watershed. I actually support more regulation, especially when it comes to impact on the environment. Having spent time in China and India where a lot of this goes much more unchecked, it's just a mess.
