Doesn't pay to be a rocker recently.
I saw him and the Jefferson Starship play at the delightful Marriot's Great America. I liked them best during their Freedom At Point Zero to Modern Times days.

Didn't we go to that show together? It was Starship then, right? I was going to post something on that very memory, but it predates the forum, so I can't be sure...
I saw Kantner several times since then, at various hippie shows, but none really stand out now.

I think they were still Jefferson Starship, then. I always got the impression Kantner was a cranky dude. Seemed to be fighting in the bands constantly and nothing ever met his standards. Just my opinion from the outside looking in.

I think I only saw two shows at Great America - Starship (I really think they had just dropped Jefferson then) & the Monkees.

Although not much of a song writer, he was the only member to remain through all the different lineups. So kudos for that.
