Ryan Reynolds a struggling commences the epic legal struggle to get Helen Mirren her painting back set against the back drop of she lost it to the Nazi's during World War II. Damn those Nazis.
It's a pretty straight ahead telling of the story. No big twists or turns or setbacks to the story. On the one hand it's a tragic story of how the Jews were persecuted and all their valuables taken away from them during WWII. It was also trying to show how Austria is trying to make reparations to the people they wronged but not really.
It was interesting to thing that everyone sees as this great and famous work of art, started out as just a painting of someone's aunt.
But again, the story is very straightforward. I don't gain any great insights or knowledge from the movie. Helen Mirren does her usual good job. Reynolds tries very hard not to do his Ryan Reynolds impersonation. And surprisingly, Orphan Black start Tatiana Maslany shows she doesn't have to play nine different roles in an episode.
