I caught this (DVR) from TCM the other night. I have to say that it was even better than I remembered. It's just a good movie. Both McQueen and Hoffman are very good, and it moves along nicely. And it was nice to see a movie where there were no gratuitous special effects just to liven things up. According to the TCM commentary, McQueen and Hoffman did not get along and would only speak to each other on screen, but nevertheless their friendship in the film works. I recommend it.
