Tears for Fears @ The Fox, Oakland
#1
Holy crap was this show amazing.

Yes, they did all their hits, "Mad World", "Change", "Pale Shelter", "Everybody Wants to Rule the World", "Shout", "Head Over Heels", "Sowing the Seeds of Love" but it was the way they did them that knocked me out. I kind of thought the two singers would come out and do their parts in front of a session band. I did not expect these guys to BE the band. The vocalists played bass and guitar non-stop throughout the show They even did a crazy lounge version of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" and covers of Arcade Fire and MGMT (OK - I have to do my detective work; I THINK it was covers of Arcade Fire and MGMT).

The crowd was the loudest I have ever heard at The Fox. The band even seemed a bit taken aback.

Apparently it was one of 6 shows they had scheduled in the states. Glad I made it.

Good times
