This was a fun night. First a Giants game (Bruce Lee tribute night #3) that was almost a Madison Bumgarner perfecto. This allowed us to miss the opening bands and waltz into the tiny DNA club just minutes before MWH hit the stage.
This was not the DNA Lounge 'proper' with the upper/lower floors but a tiny space next door that held maybe 80 people but was packed with 100 aging new-wavers and 20-something hipsters.
The sound mix was terrible but I knew all of the songs by heart (except a couple of new ones) and the crowd was really responsive. The only original member, vocalist Ivan Doroschuk, seemed really moved by how loud the fans cheered, yelled and applauded for each song.
They played most of 'Rhythm of Youth' and 'Folk of the 80's' including the (now tiresome) "Safety Dance".
Good times.
