Grrr, anger, anger.
So, I've missed a bunch of films because they didn't have sub-titles while using Netflix and Apple TV. Some movies, the subtitles pop right up. On others nothing but foreign language.
Turns out that you have to turn subtitles on by holding down the select button on your Apple TV remote. I did not know this.
You would think that the instructions would be somewhere prominent on how to do this. I came across them because I noticed in the pull down menu on Netflix's site there was a subheading called Subtitles. Now this didn't have anything to do with getting subtitles to work on Apple TV, it just showed which movies or TV shows had subtitles. But there was a link to getting subtitles to work with your device. Which is where I found the info about holding down the select button. This is also how you get alternative language tracks.
Now, I've put in several complaints to Netflix as well on problems I have had with viewing material. You would think they could drop a fellow a line with this info.
Grrrr. I repeat, Grrr. Hulk angry.
