Last Play at Shea
#1
Billy Joel performs at Shea stadium as a last hurrah before they tore the place down and replaced it with City Field.

I thought it was going to be a concert film but turns out that was released as Billy Joel plays Shea Stadium. This movie had highlights of that movie plus interviews of the performers and a background of the history of Shea and Billy Joel. I knew most of the Billy Joel stuff so a lot of that stuff came across as weak. I didn't know the Shea stadium history, so that was kind of interesting. The best anecdote that came out of the film was the fact the groundskeeper who drove the Beatles from the stage after their performance in 1962 was the same guy who drove McCartney to the stage for his performance during this concert.

I wanted to hear more of the Joel songs but they kept cutting them off so they could go onto other interesting bits about the Mets winning the World Series in 1986. For the Fiancee, they did have shots of the black cat racing in front of the Cub's dugout in the '68 series.

And for those of you keeping score, turns out Billy Joel with the help of Christie Brinkley can turn out an attractive daughter.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit

Sir Paul says he might like to play Candlestick to close it before it is demolished. I'm told he rocked OSL. Might have to get tickets. They will probably cost me more than my mortgage...
