Queensryche @ The Fillmore 04/22/13
#1
I am not a Queensryche fan.

Back in the day (1987?) I was given tickets to the Oakland Coliseum show and was blown away. The show mixed lasers, videos and giant sets to illustrate a rock opera about fascist oppression and revolution. The metal music was melodic, catchy and effective.

Unfortunately they could not bring the 80's stadium show to the Fillmore. The performance was stellar, the singer (Geoff Tate) was spot on, the band was tight and tried to make use of the tiny stage, but without the video and SFX the message was lost.

I had a great time and enjoyed the show, but really missed the Opera part of "Rock Opera".

The sound was jet-engine loud and perfect. Looking forward to hearing again...
