It was an 'actual story' with a great cast and some funny lines, but starlet films just aren't working for me anymore. Sure, it's hard being a starlet, no one understands the responsibility and being 'different' ...wah, wah, wah. You're a goddamn Marilyn Monroe. Babe up! But films about how hard it is to be an actor, the Academy sops that up in that narcissistic 'we are artists' way like gravy with a biscuit. It's a very mild R with some rear nudity and a lot of F bombs. Rates a 3 on the Harry Potter scale with Hermione, Lockhart and that broom professor that I'm too lazy to IMDB. As we all know, there are only so many UK actors and most of them are in HP. Lockhart delivering Shakespeare lines always works. If Marilyn was in a swordfight, that would have been great.
All that being said, it was great self-indulgent Hollywood entertainment for a while. I wasn't bored.
