It's Joss Whedon deconstructing the slasher film. Or as one reviewer put it "This week on a very special episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer . . ."
The film was fine. It had a lot of great dialogue mostly supplied by Bradley Whitford and Richard Jenkins. A lot of the situation were quite funny and not unintentionally. It is supposed to be a horror film but wasn't that scary.
You could probably write this film off except for a scene near the end which brought the whole film to 11. It is awesome and totally unexpected. I felt great joy watching this scene.
