Yes, I rented this because it has Aasif Mandvi of 'The Daily Show' in it.
It's the story of a sous chef who quits his job when he gets passed over for promotion by the guy who plays Mayhem in the Allstate commercial. He decides to go to Paris to regroup but gets sidetracked sidetracked into running his father's failing Indian restaurant. He does this despite the fact he's never cooked an Indian dish in his life. Step in cab-driver Ahkbar to save the day by teaching Aasif about Indian cooking and about life.
I expected the movie to be funnier. It was more of a touch feely man growing up sort of story. It hits all the beats you would think it would. There isn't a surprise in the bunch. And very few laughs.
