Against the Light by Dave Duncan
#1
I'm a Dave Duncan, but some of his books can be hit or miss. He had some weird books about hexagonal shaped world that just made me go huh? But I like his latest series about Venice and Nostradamus. Lots of fun lots of sword fights.

Truth to be told, I'm always afraid when I read one of his books, that this might be his last book. He's kind of old.

But there is a new one out, "Against the Light". The thing about Duncan is he builds new worlds all the time. In this one the forces of light are the bad guys and the forces of dark are the good guys. It's all about how corrupted religion gets over time. In the blurb, Duncan says he based the book partly on Elizabethan England with all it's persecutions. But nothing is ever as it seems. The forces for bad aren't all that bad. And there are some real dicks in the forces for good.

It is a fun fast read. Full of odd magic and swordfights and even a little sexy time.

Unfortunately, though the book does wrap everything up, there will be a sequel or two.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit
