Hey, I worked on this film. And I thought I did a post on it elsewhere . . .

Who knew Aaron Sorkin was good at dialogue. The story was very entertaining and I got to learn a fictitious background of the world's youngest billionaire. It is a movie that requires you to put the pieces together to find out people's motivations rather than hitting you over the head with the talking points. It treated the audience like adults which was odd.

If you stay to the credits, you'll find something interesting. Besides the fact that no carpenters were used in the making of this film, there were a ton of special effects people thanked. There weren't any spaceships or alien creatures. They filmed everything on practical locations and soundstages so there weren't any Green Screen sets. But if you look at the acting credits, you'll notice there is only one name given for the Winklevoss twins. This meant they had to shoot the actor twice in every scene so there could be two of them. I guess we didn't have any twin actors left in Hollywood to play this roll. They also had a lot of money to do the effects.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit

In order to fully express my opinion of the scenes with the court reporters, I'd need an Uzi, a brick wall and a lineup of anyone responsible for putting that crap on film.

Other than that, it was entertaining.

I expect a little more from an Oscar nominee. But it wasn't dull. It was all about the actresses, even though none of them had that many scenes. I couldn't get past Rashida Jones or Brenda Song. Rashida played the same character she always seems to play so I was like 'is this the Office/Parks&Rec or what?" Brenda, well, my kid watches Zack & Cody, so I've seen way too many episodes of that show. She's the only Asian Disney star of note and even did Wendy Wu, so I've seen a lot of her work. I thought she stole every scene she was in - especially her last scene - but I still couldn't get past role as London Tipton (Disney's parody of Paris Hilton, as absurd as that seems). I was mostly drawn to Rooney Mara, as she's playing Lizbeth Salander in Fincher's remake of Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I can now see how this remake might work. Rooney's got a charisma with that edge and with Fincher's direction, I'm now less skeptical of the remake. To top it all off, I loved Reznor's soundtrack, but I confess that I'm biased as I've always enjoyed NIN. Timberlake was amusing, but like Rashida, I have a hard time getting past Dick in a Box.
