My Adventures in my Kitchen
#1
The microwave finally decided it had enough. Press all the buttons, you want. It's not heating any food. Go ahead. Try any combination. Pretend your playing with the keypad. It's not going to get you a power boost.
I don't know how long ago, the exhaust fan stopped working. I made a minimal attempt to find out why it stopped, but then I just figured we could get by without. I don't like taking apart things I've installed. It turns out machines don't heal, no matter what it says in the cool robot science fiction stories. While I was away in Ireland, I think the Micro decided to send out it's warning notices that it had enough and would cease to function all together. I guess it was siding with the exhaust fan. It blew the breakers on that side of the kitchen. And not in a good way. The Queen had to deal with this problem while I was crossing the Carrick-a-Reed rope bridge.
The fuse problem didn't reoccur, but the it did stop heating the food some of the times. Until last night, when it stopped heating all of the food all of the time.
So, it was time to take down the microwave and get another. And maybe find out the mystery of the fan. At about the time the fan quit, I think I was having new shingles put on the roof. I figured that something had fallen down the chimney and wedged into the fan.
In all of about two seconds, I found the problem. As I pulled away the duct tape, dirt started to fall out around me. Aha, I was right. Something debris had fallen in and jammed the mechanism. Aha, no. The amount of dirt and composite shingles was minimal. The real culprit turned out to be a little bird had flown down and wedged itself in amongst the plastic rotators. It still had all it's feathers. But was completely dessicated. It's bout to destroy the Microwave had finally reached it's conclusion.
Now, I just thinking what can I cook to try out the new microwave.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit

We had a microwave at work that decided it would only operate when the door was open.

We had to use it like x-ray techs until we replaced it...
