In the morbidly fascinating department.

Skip the early articles. Search for the title that starts: "Curiosity Fuelled"

I've had too many close encounters with deadly snakes already. We came way to close to a wild Fer De Lance in Costa Rica (Stacy and I were about a yard apart and it was between us). I remember us free hiking in Thailand and this little snake-like lizard scared the piss out of me. I freaked out and for the rest of the hike, I was seeing King Cobras behind every tree.

I thought he lived up near Seattle. He's got to be the least dangerous thing on the planet.

But if you're scared, you're scared. Wuss.
So much for the flickr badge idea. Dammit

the one we saw was easily a five footer. they travel with their heads up. their scales are like black velvet. they say they can bite through boots. they're territorial and will attack trespassers. when ours left, it shot off into the rainforest fast as an arrow....an absolutely terrifying creature in the wild. i'll never ever forget looking that snake in the eye.
