Ok...I'm not a Ben Stiller fan. I hate watching his characters bumble along in more and more unbelievable situations for the sake of moving the story.
This movie starts over the top with some fake commercials and moves from there. There's an ensemble cast, so Jack Black and Ben Stiller are balanced by the other characters. There's some opening gore (it is supposed to be about filming a war movie), but it gets hilarious from there.
Robert Downey Jr. is awesome. Tom Cruise as the gross film exec is really good. You almost forget what an idiot he is in real life (at least from what the tabloids feed us).
In the end, it is just base, gross humor, but it was fun. Lot's of laughs. Probably the best thing from Stiller that I can think of. (Although I like the Pootertoot's sketch with Jeanine Garofolo from the Ben Stiller Show).
