Rise Against @ Oracle 7/9/9

I wasn't going to go, but my family went to bed early and the buck moon was keeping me up, so I went. I'm not really into punk mosh bands, but I admire Rise Against's political stance. I arrived late, as Rancid was playing, but I've seen them before. Rise Against opened with some cool political footage, but didn't go back to it. They were pretty tight at what they did however. The house was maybe 1/8th full, but those kids had a great time (as noted by how much trauma came crawling out of the mosh pits). They had two good pits going all night, even for the slow songs, plus a lot of crowd surfing. It was entertaining, but it's still not my sound, and I think I would have enjoyed it more if the politics were more overt.

I'm going back to Oracle tonight for Sasha.
