Heads of State. How bad is this going to be?

It’s got Priyanka & Quaid. I’m in.

Don’t be such a Debbie downer…

This is exactly what you might expect. Lots of machine guns. Lots of explosions. Lots of silly physics. Idris plays mostly straight man to Cena’s buffoonery, and at a certain point Cena’s comedy relief almost works. Their bromance has a smidgen of chemistry but not quite enough to sustain it. Cena’s president is somewhere between Reagan (ex-actor) & Trump (social media addict) but I would’ve liked to see him be even more cartoonish.

Priyanka is solid tho - she acts beyond what is needed her - as I’ve said before, see her Bollywood work to learn what a phenomenal actress she can be, but now that she’s in Hollywood, she’s typecast as the action hottie. And she can do that too. She delivers the best fight scene - puts the boys to shame. 

Quaid is good too but his role is way too short. 

But yeah, the kind of film Greg loves to hate on. I parked my brain outside and rode along staying focused on Priyanka to slog through. For me, that was worth it, but only barely.

Bottom line = Priyanka.

Not D00M recommended. 

I have two other films that I watched over the holiday weekend that I’ve been meaning to review but those were good so I need more time & thought before I post them. This one was easy (it’s always easy to trash stuff - that’s Internet fuel).

Over last weekend Shannon and I watched both The Hitman's Bodyguard's Wife and Heads of State. Between the two, I think Heads of State was the winner. 

It is what it portended to be.
